History in Montessori is not taught as a collection of isolated dates and facts. It sits within the much bigger story of Cosmic Education, helping children understand how humans adapted, solved problems, created tools, built communities and shaped the world we live in today. But because Montessori history can cover such a huge span of time, it can be difficult to know what to teach first, which resources fit together, or how much material you actually need.

Many of these resources connect naturally with the Montessori Great Stories collection, particularly the Story of Humans. A Great Story might spark questions about early people, migration, food, shelter, tools, communication or culture — and those questions can become the starting point for deeper historical investigation.
That means you do not need to teach history in one rigid sequence. You can follow the child's curiosity while still giving them a coherent understanding of humanity's shared story.
