The Great Stories sit at the heart of Montessori Cosmic Education. They are designed to spark imagination and open doors into science, history, geography, culture, mathematics and language. But because Cosmic Education is so broad, it can sometimes be difficult to work out which resources you actually need or what should come next after telling a Great Story.

Depending on where your children’s interests lead, you might move from the Coming of the Universe into astronomy, volcanoes or the formation of Earth; from the Coming of Life into fossils and the Timeline of Life; or from the Story of Humans into fundamental needs, early humans and the development of civilisation.
That is one of the things I love about Montessori Cosmic Education: you do not need to teach every topic in a rigid sequence. The Great Stories give children a framework, and their questions help determine where you travel next.
