What Are CCVC Words?

CCVC words follow this pattern:

consonant + consonant + vowel + consonant

Examples include words such as:

A child may confidently read simple CVC words and then begin omitting one sound when two consonants appear together.

This version increases the spelling challenge.

3. Read the Word and Draw the Meaning

This version asks the child to read the CCVC word independently and draw what it means.
