Word Study: Classification (literacy)

These 4 sets of 20 word cards require students to classify or group words by a common feature.

In each set there are 5 words for each group.

In Set 1 children sort 20 words into each of the following category: shapes, numbers, names, drinks.

In Set 2 children sort 20 words into each of the following category: dinosaurs, machines, animals, clothes.

In Set 3 children sort 20 words into each of the following category: food, places, instruments, sports

In Set 4 children sort 20 words into each of the following category: countries, continents, cities, landmarks.

This set has been designed with an international audience in mind.

An answer key and instructions are provided.

These make a perfect addition to you 6-9 class word study.
