What need do they meet?

With this resource the child is introduced to the ‘why’ of physical or material fundamental needs.

Designed for 5 - 9 year old children or children who need a more systematic and comprehensive understanding of why certain things are needs. Using a matching activity the child can read about each or have a sensorial introduction to the physical fundamental needs. For example for clothing three pictures are given. Under each picture is an explanation of the ‘why’ of the need Clothing:

Protection : Clothing serves as a wall between our bodies and the environment, protecting us from the weather and injury.

Modesty : Clothes help cover body parts that groups believe are private.

Decoration and Expression : Clothing can share a lot about a person’s personality, culture, style and identity.
