Nature themed golden bead cards (numbers in context)
Nature themed golden bead cards (numbers in context)
These 44 task cards have been designed for children who don’t like the traditional Montessori “Make Me” games seen in 3-6 Casa or 6-9 Elementary classes.
They use numbers in real life and help children see how numbers relate to the world. They are also a great way to integrate science as all of them are nature based.
Read the card and ask the child to make the number. You could also ask the child to make one less, one more, ten less, ten more, etc.I've colour coded the numbers to match the Montessori colours.
Examples include:
- The Great Barrier Reef is Australia is 2027km long.
- There are 650 families of arachnids.
- Lichen have been found 400 km from the South Pole!
- An elephant can walk up to 195 km in a day.
