Support your students in mastering r-controlled vowels with these Montessori-inspired r matching cards! This resource gives children hands-on practice mapping sounds to letters and sorting words by spelling patterns, helping them build fluency in both reading and writing.

• Header cards for each vowel r sound

• Matching picture and word cards

📝 How to Use:

1. Print double-sided and cut along the lines.

2. Introduce the vowel r header cards to the child.

3. Model the activity by matching picture cards and word cards beneath the correct header.

4. Invite the child to continue independently, sorting additional word and picture cards into the correct categories.

5. Encourage the child to check their work by flipping over the card for the answer.

6. Extend learning by having students write selected words with the moveable alphabet.

7. Place on the shelf for independent practice and repeat the process with new vowel r sounds on another day.
