Modern Montessori Reading SOR Open and Closed Syllable Activities

Did you know that open and closed syllables are the most common syllable types in English?
Being introduced to them helps students decode words and make sensible attempts at saying them.
This Montessori inspired pack features
-full teacher notes
-Pseudo word lists to practise saying open and long vowels
-Clip and flip 2 syllable words. The first syllable of a word is given and the child has to find the second syllable so that the word makes sense. The child places a peg on the correct answer and flips it over to see whether they are correct.
-Unscramble a sentence. A 'mixed up' sentence is given and student place the words in the correct order to make a sensible sentence.
