• Start of term assessment to work out child's current literacy level
• Instructions for the adult/s
• Full access to computer literacy modules through Lexia Core5 (phonics, reading support)
• A curated set of reading books mailed to your house 
  
• Monthly live check-ins or feedback from a Montessori-trained teacher
• Printable guides and lesson plans linked to Montessori key curriculum: grammar, writing,  reading comprehension, word study, learning to read. You must have a way of printing these materials.

We will:

• Assess your child
• Provide learning material that you print off and present (teach) to your child. 
• Provide reading books, posted to your house if requested - for NZ addresses only
• Monitor your child's work on Lexia (computer programme) and provide worksheets to support this learning.
• Check in with you to see how the work is going through monthly live check ins

HOW IS MONTESSORI LEARNING DIFFERENT TO A PREPACKAGED HOMESCHOOL CURRICULUM?

Most homeschool curriculums are:

• Content-led: “Here’s what to teach this week”
• Adult-directed: the parent decides pace, sequence, and timing
• Outcome-focused: worksheets, levels, grades.

Montessori learning is:

• Child-led within structure and boundaries
• Developmentally timed (meets the brain where it is)
• Mastery-focused (deep understanding before moving on)

WHAT DO I GET?

We generally provide packs of content that cover a school term. The packs will cover a range of materials and ideas. The pack will be emailed to you and any reading books or supplementary materials will be posted.

In the pack will be an outline of the content to deliver along with what you need to monitor.

This material is built on traditional Montessori principles.

-There is not an 'allocated' amount of work per day to do. 

- Materials are printed and placed on a shelf for the child to choose from after they have had a lesson/s with you. 

- Children are expected to repeat materials as many times as needed for them to learn.

-Wherever possible a self correction is given, this means the child is not waiting for an adult to mark their work.  Simply put think of a traditional puzzle. With a puzzle if the child puts a piece in the wrong place they see that it is in the wrong place and move it to the right place. Our learning materials do this as well. Your learning materials will often have the ‘answer’ on the back so the child can see for themself how they are doing.

WHAT HAPPENS IF MY CHILD IS TAKING A LONG/SHORTER TIME TO GET THROUGH THE LEARNING MATERIAL?

We will be regularly checking in with you and help you with pacing if needed and add or modify learning materials if needed.
