Modern Montessori Reading - Advanced descriptors - identifying adjectives, clip and flip cards (literacy)
Vocabulary development is important for oral language and written language.
There are a variety of target words so it is best to do these over multiple days.
Discuss what the word means and ask children for words that mean that word, as you are discussing expand on their idea so if the word is nutritious and the child says ‘carrot’ you can say ‘yes, a carrot is nutritious it has lots of vitamins and minerals in it that are healthy for humans.’
Show the children how they will need to place 3 pegs on the pages as there will be 3 examples of the target word.
Show the children when they flip over they will know that they are correct because there will be a grey circle that matches.
✅ Self Correcting - correct word written on the reverse of picture
