Resources to teach about Waitangi Day for new Zealand classrooms for children aged year 2-8. This bundle of activities has something for everyone including a powerpoint, interactive activities and opportunities for discussion.

Tree Hut Treaty Lessons and Follow up

27 pages including: lesson plan, printables,  articles, posters, character tasks, story sorting, introduction to the Treaty of Waitangi.

ACTIVITIES FOR JUNIORS
 Waitangi Day JUNIOR scavenger hunt
This resource is designed for years 2-4. Students will have to be at least Turquoise to do this activity independently.
HOW TO USE:
A series of fact cards are placed around the room and students 'hunt' for the answer and write it on their worksheet.
When completed students can design their own fact sheet, picture or poster about Waitangi Day.

Waitangi Day Story Book
A 7 page story book for New Zealand years 2-4 that explains the Treaty of Waitangi and Waitangi Day in language young children can understand.
