Help Children See the Quantity Behind the Numeral
Each tree represents one number from 1–10. Children find and place four corresponding cards onto it:
- a Montessori coloured bead bar;
- a ten-frame quantity;
- a finger representation; and
- a group of familiar objects.
When the tree is complete, the child can see four different ways of representing the same amount.
