Math Grid Game
In this activity, students think of different ways to represent the number.
To see how this works in real life check out this blog
1)Give child several sticky notes or empty pieces of paper that fit over the rectangles.
2)Have the child write/draw another way of representing the number. For example if the box has the number ‘15’ the child could write 10 + 5 or they could write fifteen or they could write a word problem that has 15 as the answer etc. Encourage children who speak multiple languages to use those other languages in their responses too!
