Help students practise money in a way that actually feels like real life.

So often, students can complete basic money worksheets but then get stuck when they need to apply those skills to shopping, totals, change, unit prices, and comparison questions. This New Zealand money shopping activity gives students practical, real-world maths problems using a visual price list and task cards.

Students use the shop price page to calculate totals, compare prices, work out change, and decide what they could buy with different amounts of money. It is ideal for moving students beyond simply recognising coins and notes into using money for problem solving.

As a New Zealand teacher, I know how important it is for money lessons to feel useful, not just abstract. These tasks help students practise the kind of thinking they need when reading prices, planning purchases, checking whether they have enough money, and explaining which option is cheaper or more expensive.
