Australia and Oceania Landmark Cards | Montessori Geography Reading & Matching
Australia and Oceania Landmark Cards | Montessori Geography Reading & Matching
Help children explore Australia and Oceania through real places, natural features, landmarks, and short readable information cards.
This Montessori-inspired geography resource introduces students to significant places across Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific Islands. It is a simple, low-prep way to add meaningful regional geography to your shelf work, continent studies, cultural studies, or reading rotations.
Sometimes geography resources only ask children to memorise a map. But children remember places more deeply when they can connect them to real features: waterfalls, lagoons, coral reefs, sacred places, cities, islands, and landforms. These cards give students short, accessible reading passages so they can build both geography knowledge and reading confidence.
As a Montessori and state-trained teacher in New Zealand, I created this to help children see Oceania as more than “Australia plus a few islands.” This region is rich with cultures, environments, landmarks, and natural wonders, and children deserve geography materials that reflect that.
